Two weeks ago we had a test run of the new qualifying format for the 16 and Over Expert/Pro Open class, the time trials. This week was the first running of the class in full. A total of ten riders attempted to qualify for the eight open spots in the three lap shootout. The new track was really fast this weekend allowing the riders who had already posted times to better their efforts from the test run.
Guest announcer Rob Micheline did a great job of getting the spectators involved during the time trials and Billy Serviss cranked out the motos making sure that the crowd kept up their excitement during the running of all three open mains.
With two excellent announcers, beautiful weather, exciting racing, great crowd participation, and a ton of Shoreham’s finest racers from the past in attendance, the first official running of the 16 and Over Expert/Pro Open was a success!
