Opening Day @ Shoreham

After a rainout last weekend, it was a completely different scenario this weekend. This time the weather was cooperating with us and allowing us to kick off our new season. With a completely renovated track design, and plenty of buzz about this season already, it shouldn't be a surprise there are a few more changes from last year. First off the 16 and over Pro/Am open class was reconfigured to implement a Single Rider Time Trial qualifying round as noted in the previous post. Another change from last year is our rider of the week selection, which is where we select a rider from each raceday and post it on our site.


Our first Rider of the week selection goes to Nicky Smith, our youngest rider at the current time. Nicky who just turned 4 was out on the track for the first time, and having a blast. After watching some of his siblings and other family members race around the track for the past few years, Nicky decided he is going to try it out as well. Nicky didn't do too bad considering it was his first time out there, and he was racing older riders, but I am certain it won't be too long before we see him in front of the pack.
