Regional Championship/Regional Qualifier

This past weekend was the 2009 Regional Championship Race as well as the first 2010 Northeast Regional Qualifier. Due to the caliber of these races, the Shoreham BMX Parents Association wanted this race to be perfect. With a great deal of help from a bunch of our riders and parents, our goal was definitely accomplished. The weekend started off with a clinic on Friday, held by Shoreham's own TLI (Team Long Island) riders. The clinic was a great start to a great weekend. There was a good amount of riders who participated and naturally many of them placed real well during the weekends races.

Saturday started with the 2009 Regional Championship which was previously rained out in September. The Championship was a huge success overall and was virtually flawless, leaving everyone with nothing but positive comments. Directly afterward the Day 1 of the 2010 Regional Qualifiers was run. Although the moto count did drop a bit this was a great race as well. Finishing up just about when it was dark leaving the kids and parents plenty of time for Halloween activities at the track.

Sunday's early rain was no factor for the track and again another flawless race was put on. Overall there wasn't as big of a turnout as we expected, but the entire weekend was funfilled and action packed nonetheless.

Austin Modell crashed hard on Saturday but came back to win on Sunday resulting in a move up to Expert

Mike Kilcullen was literally perfect the whole weekend, and is going to be a huge concern for the 26-34 Experts come springtime

Another unstoppable force was none other than Cheyenne Noud coming off a huge Grand National Race and continuing her domination

Kristen Klein also picking up some huge points at this race, this will be one of the most exciting classes to watch this coming year
