NBL TO DONATE UNUSED CLOTHING TO HAITI RELIEF EFFORT
NBL Encourages Local Tracks to Donate Through the Program Also
HILLIARD, OH (Jan. 22, 2010) — In response to the earthquake and subsequent devastation in Haiti, the NBL has gathered over a thousand items of clothing in conjunction with TB Trophies & Awards to donate to the relief effort. While the initial donations of money and emergency supplies are needed, we recognize that clothing will become an issue during their recovery.
The NBL is also asking local tracks to donate any leftover items from previous races or programs. We know our nation is a very giving nation and will open up their closets, but we are only requesting new clothing items for these donations.
If a local track is interested in donating, please contact the NBL at jessmoore@nbl.org and describe the items you have collected. We will direct you where to send the items and reimburse the track for shipping costs.
NBL CEO Gary Aragon says, “The people of Haiti have just experienced a tragedy we are unable to fathom. I had the privilege of working with the Haitian community years ago, and I am greatly affected by the tragedy that has befallen them at this time. There are plenty of organizations accepting monetary donations, so we wanted to provide direct donations of clothing to help the Haitians clothe themselves and their children during their immense rebuilding process. We encourage all our local tracks to join in the effort.”
